What is a good bmx dirt racing bike?
Hi I am 5 foot 10 inches and weigh 125 pounds. Right now I race dirt bikes. I would like to get into bmx dirt racing. What do you think would be a good bike for me and how much would it cost? Is there any maintence you have to do to the bikes? How many times do I need to practice untill I can race. Are begginers jumping about 20 feet noramally and how hard is it to race? Lots of questions will pick a best answer. Thanks

I reckon you are too tall for BMX personally.
Specially if you are still growing?..
I recommend downhill mountain bike racing. More fun too lol..
But if you are still interested in BMX, here are a few models I like..
Profile, GT or Redline.
Yes you have to maintain the bike as with any machine.
Including regreasing and checking bearings, chain lube and replacement, check head set bearing cup for cracks before every race etc etc..
Practice, practice, practice as much as you can..
You can race without practicing, but you’ll be likely to come last..
It’s not necessarily how big you can jump it’s traction to the ground and smoothness that wins races.
If you can ride a bike it’s reasonably easy to race.
Go to some race meetings to watch and ask questions..
Goodluck and I hope this sort of helps…:-)
